21 January, Saturday :: SPI Malaysian Bigfoot Hunt

Time: TBA
Venue: Primitive rainforest jungle in Johor, Malaysia
Costs: TBA
Seats Available: 20 pax (on selection basis)
Organized by SPI Department of Cryptozoology

Does King Kong exist in reality? Elusive 10-feet tall hairy hominids - ancient apes which are commonly termed as "Bigfoot" were reportedly sighted in Johor rainforest on newspaper. Is Bigfoot a fact or fiction? This interesting cryptozoology mystery has puzzled many researchers for centuries.

In the past, SPI cryptozoologist Ah Toh has been studying and investigating on-site for the local mythical creature called Mawas (local version of Bigfoot) in Malaysia for a considerable period of time. With the tips of local informants, recently SPI has located the site as well as the witnesses, where footprints and sightings of Bigfoot took place.

The quest to solve the Malaysian Bigfoot mystery is on-going and of a long term. In collaboration of SPI with the Johor National Park and other Malaysian authorities, clearance permits are being sought for a professional and systematical research trekking expedition. Or else it is illegal to bash into a protected fragile forest to look for Bigfoot, because standard procedures and methodology especially those that aim to preserve the ecosystem and the evidences must be enforced.

On the 21 January, SPI invites members and other capable individuals who are keen to participate into this preliminary jungle expedition at Kota Tinggi, as a training ground. So you would get yourself acquainted with the wild jungle environment for this project. In-house information and training will be provided to you prior to this event, that aim to prepare you to be a professional cryptozoologist and part of the team. Qualified SPI members will be then invited into the future official and intensive trekking research together with Johor National Park authorities in a due course.

For more details, visit this site: http://www.spi.com.sg/spi_files/bigfoot
On Monday 9 Jan, The New Paper will report this SPI Bigfoot Hunt project

To register, press the button below and specify about your background (such as your age, education, the nature of your university degree, and profession), and indicate what specialty you have that can contribute to this research. This is not a fun day outing to see King Kong or visit zoo, but a rehearsal gathering for serious cryptozoologists who want to do serious research together.

Details on the logistics, meeting place, time, cost and other training info will be emailed to you once you have been short-listed, between 16 and 19 Jan.

SPI Wish you a Prosperous New Year

Year 2005 has been a very memorial year for SPI - there are so many wonderful events and needless to say, many exciting investigations and expeditions at the same time. SPI has been more progressive than ever after changed to an open and democratic registered official society.

Each SPI event comprises of every member's sweat and effort. They will be documented on the website for the whole world to see, and to witness how each of us build up SPI the pioneer paranormal research society in Singapore, both actively and selflessly. Not for his own fame or ego, but for the good SPI name and the good passion that we share together.

Thank everybody here, the ladies and gentlemen of SPI who have come a long way to establish SPI as a recognized national brand spearheading into solving the mysteries of paranormal. A name that every Singaporean should be proud of. From Far East to Middle East, plus in all parts of Asia and even western countries on the other side of the globe, people know about our reputable identity SPI - the professional investigators from Singapore.

We pledge to continue to work hard and keep up the quality research work throughout this year, promoting SPI from a home-brand to a worldwide brand. At the same time, be recognized as an esteemed research society that is able to produce good results in terms of knowledge and expertise. These results in turn will be contributed back to the Singapore society helping in the public understand the facts from the urban legends.

Year 2006 will be a big year to come, for SPI and for everyone of us. Grand vision comes with big responsibilities. Wish the best for everyone and the best rewards on the way to progress and excel, for us together as a team (which some say as a whole big family).
