Close Encounter
I use to stay with my late mum in law in Sembawang,
the new flats (blk 403). I remember when people stayed
over, they got eerie feelings from my house and the
whole block as a whole. My in laws flat, it seems had
a 'stayer' or penunggu rumah. it was really creepy because
a few people saw it, namely my sis in law, a family
friend an uncle of ours. we tried to get rid of it but
it wouldn't go.
With regards to PONTIANAKS, a neighbour upstairs shared
with us his sister's boyfriend's experience. apparently
he had just fallen asleep in the hall when he felt like
someone was watching him from the balcony. He peeped
slowly and lo and behold, kak Pon was watching him from
there, she was literally climbing onto the grille. The
boy was so freaked out he closed his eyes and pretended
to sleep. But kak Pon was persistent, she said 'jangan
tipu tido!' (don't pretend to sleep) I don't know what
happened after that. But my experience overall; I can
say that place is very 'dirty'.
Maybe WW2 era pass on, not so sure..but the feeling
there just isn't right...

Haunted Shopping Centre?
Please do not be misled by S*n Plaza, the shopping centre
beside Sembawang MRT station. Sembawang S******** School
(SSC) is further down the road, towards Yishun. I have
worked there 10 over years back in KFC (before the centre
is renovated) and since it is always the last few outlets
to close, there are always chances for us to hear a
lot about the supernatural.
1. It is rumoured that every night, there will be marching
heard on the second floor. I have asked one tenant who
has been there for a long time but he says never heard
about this kind of things.
2. If you all didn't realise, SSC has 9 floors, not
the 4-5 floors that most tot it has. The last few floors
above the shopping centre are all residential areas.
Before the whole place is renovated, my colleagues and
me have ventured up there. The scary part is that only
the first residential floor is occupied, we assume,
as one flat got one orange light shining thru the door.
But the higher we went, the darker it becomes, until
the last floor, where there is a poster bed in the middle
of the dark, eerie lift lobby.
3. We even climbed up to the top floor (attic??), where
we can have a really good, clear view around SSC. Once
up there, i suddenly saw, from the corner of the eye,
a pair of legs running across. But of coz, i have to
say it may be a figment of my imagination. Haha.
4. I have asked this colleague of mine, who used to
go up to the top floor after work for a relaxed smoke
with two other friends, whether he has experienced any
things. He told me that there's once, 3 of them are
talking and one of them just started running. The two
followed suit and when probed bout the reason, the guy
told them that while they are talking, he saw an Indian
man, holding a parang, running straight at em.... Any
more stories about that place?? I may asked my mum's
friends, who work in Giant.

Hi, just wanna share the following stories. My cousins
used to worked in Sembawang P***a and she mentioned
few creepies stuffs to me.
She heard from the cleaners that the toilets are extremely
creepy, especially at night. One of the cleaner was
bathing in the last cubicle and out of the blue, she
heard someone was calling her. Then, she opened the
door slightly to peep out but there was none.
The next moment, when she turned back, a white figure
was right behind her staring at her. Freak out. She
dashes out of the cubicle.
2nd story. Once my cousin was at the basement arranging
some goods to prepare for the start of the day. While
doing her work, at the corner of her eyes, she saw a
little girl squatting beside and looking at her. Crrepy..
This had happened to quite a number of her colleagues
too.
3rd story, She saw 1 lady in white, just walked passed
her smiling and then through the escalator in the basement

A taxi driver told me this:
This happened many years ago. Usually he and two other
taxi drivers would meet up at one of the petrol kiosk
around 2 / 4 am to have their break and at the same
time talk to the lady on duty (they knew each other
for a long time).
One night, they heard a squeaking sound and saw a car
dashed into the kiosk compound and stopped right in
front of the door way. They rushed out to find out what
happened. The driver was a young man, his face was almost
greenish and his hands were gripped firmly on the steering
wheel. One of the guys went into the kiosk and got him
a cup of warm water. Then they helped him out of the
car. The older guys began to apply axe-oil on his forehead
because he body was cold. A while later, he regained
his 'consciousness'. They asked him what happened.
He related this story:
After meeting up with his friends, he went to fetch
his car from the parking place at Sembawang Secondary
School (SSC), right after he started his car, he saw
a green figure sitting on the passenger's seat. All
the way out the green thing was trying to grab his steering
wheel to cause an accident. It was a fierce struggle
and finally he saw the kiosk, that was why he used up
all his strength to rush in. He was glad there was no
vehicle along Thomson Road at that hour.
When asked where the green thing was, he replied that
when they were helping him out, it was still sitting
there staring at him. He was not going to drive home,
and he asked the kiosk those taxi guys if they could
help to call his brother / cousin to come and fetch
him.
Just to share with you all. Up to you to believe this.
But there was no reason why the taxi guy should weave
such a tale to fool me.

Female Ghost
I ever work in SSC till they close down. Once I heard
from my friend who work at 2nd level, said that their
storeroom is haunted. The 3rd previous manager resign
2 day after taking over, and no one knows why?? Rumours
said that he saw a female ghost. My friend told me every
night they pack their storeroom clean, next day when
they open shop, it became messy. As if bulgur break-in.
The last manager, who is my friend ever saw it once.
He told me there is a woman and a baby... I don't know
is it true, as I went in several times I still cant
feel or see anything. But in the end, my friend commit
suicide ...not at e outlet , at home...police treat
it as unnatural death. I suspect e outlet geomancy is
bad, as no one last long in the shop. Staff from that
shop ever said my friend committed suicide in the outlet
once, but unsuccessful, as the "tougay" (for price tag
use) break. Mayb cant support his weight...anyway I
heard alot of stories about SSC, but now under renovation.
But i miss the good old days at there...

A Witch was Hanged?
Sembawang area, especially Wak Hassan place and Penaga
place used to have a kampong road lead all the way to
the canal but now its a dead end. That area has many
reported Pontianak sightings and Penanggalan "bodyless
ghost". Majority are Pontianaks.
That's true. If you go to the Bottle Tree Village makan
place , you will have to drive past that stretch of
road which kind of eerie. That's around the Wak Hassan
place with the low tree canopy and dim lighting. The
left turn after Andrew Ave. Next time you drive there,
slow down and wind down the car windows and you will
get that funny feeling! My cousin pointed out to me
a tree where a witch was hanged last time...don?t
how true it is though..
My cousin went to sembawang beach long ago to catch
crabs...then gt one time he felt dazed and when he came
to his senses, he was very far out at sea and the water
level was almost till his head. Same here, I use to
go there to get crabs at night usually if I’m with
friends get down to canal nothing happens but if we
are all alone the pontianak will appear from the other
side of the canal and look at us, she doesn’t seem
to be very aggressive but, you know what I mean....we
are spooked by her presence and off cause her appearances.

Who called my name?
When I was pregnant, I always go fishing at Sembawang
Park with my friends & my husband. Before I gave birth
a week ago, I was there camping with the group. At dawn,
we were going packing up but it started raining heavily
so the 7 of us went hiding inside one tent. When we
were in the tent, I was sitting in the back tent. I
suddenly heard someone calling out my name outside the
tent so started asking my husband and others friends
if there was anyone left outside the tent. To my surprise
there was no one left out there, but I was very confirm
that I did heard someone calling out my name very clearly
and that was a man voice. And I ask my friend did anyone
call me and anyone heard someone calling my name. But
no one heard except for me and when I was trying to
shake off the eerie feeling, I heard the voice again
calling my name but I kept quiet till I left the place.

Lustful Ghost?
I can't remember if I had encountered any ghosts during
my past overnight BBQing experiences in Sembawang Park,
but I do know that there is a risk of encountering a
different sort of 'ghost' altogether...the hamsup 'ghost'
aka 'peeping tom' haha...It's been a while since I've
made a return trip there (despite staying relatively
nearby), but if you gals find yourselves there and especially
late at night, be careful when you use the toilets (the
one near the restaurant), because the upper windows
face the back of the restaurant, and a friend of mine
had encountered such a peeping fiend there. Alas, we
couldn't catch that rotten bugger

White Figure Followed You
Sorry, just sidetrack a bit here. I was formerly from
Sembawang camp and there was once where 2 of my friends,
they were required to do prowling in the morning just
after midnight, and there was this checkpoint just besides
the SAF yatch club where we had to get to by exiting
through a gate, a few hundred metres besides the yatch
club.
That night, 1 of them was waiting at the gate while
other 1 went to finish his prowling to and fro from
the checkpoint. Upon returning back, my friend who was
standing @ the gate saw something in white following
other guy closely behind. Needless to say, he shouted
at him to dash back and lock the gate quickly. Then,
they dash off to the next point.
Seems to me that the Sembawang area quite "dirty", although
I can't verify whether my friends said are true since
I've never witness it before.

River Ghost
I use to go fishing at the sea sport club and beside
it was a canal. During 1 of my fishing trip there, upon
reaching the sea sports club, i saw a group of motor
siao beside the canal making lots of noise and having
their music on super loud. After a while it went totally
silence. I thought they were gone, but suddenly 1 of
them ran over to us to ask for help as 1 of their guy
kept on wanting to jump into the canal. its was lucky
that 1 of the uncle fishing there use to be a Tangki,
so he went over to save him. From the conversation with
the uncle after the incident, he told me that the guy
he had saved was process by the river ghost who had
committed suicide long time ago. i was told it was a
lady who had jump into the canal wearing red dress to
commit suicide. I wonder anyone had heard about this
canal ghost or personally encounter it. Maybe share
it with everyone.

Fishing Horror
Recently, I went to the canal beside the bottle tree
village at Sembawang to do some fishing....reached there
around 7pm plus...after setting up my equipment, started
to fish...noticed that I’m the only guy who was fishing
over there. I really don't think about those creepy
things cause I keep bringing up fish...around 10plus,
two guys walk pass by me with their fishing equipment.
They started to fish at the river mouth which is 70m
away from me. Notice that they too keep bringing up
fish. 12plus saw 1 of the guy try to start a fire but
couldn't manage to start it...his friend try to help
him but unable to start it... Omg, I started to sense
somethings not right. After many tries to start the
fire without success, they packed their stuff n decided
to go back...for them to go back, they have to pass
me...when they pass me, they asked whether I was fishing
until dawn break...I replied, if I can stand it, I will
stay lah...so they went away leaving me alone...the
fish that I keep bringing up is unbelievable, suddenly
I started to smell something smelly.. It was not pungent
smell. The smell was indescribable....never want to
turn my head back but from the corner of my eyes, i
saw a white figure squatting and eating the fish that
i caught...without any delay, pack all my stuff and
quickly leave the place.

Rubber Trees got Miss P?
I don't think there's any house left at Wak Hassan?
Hmmm....
True bro... there is none left after the last occupants
was evicted by the authorities in 2000. There were only
6 family left then. The rest were relocated to yishun
and sembwang new estate.
The only remnants of the old kampong there are the Malay
Settlement Sembawang Mosque. The mosque is not that
old, only about 60 years. The residents still gathers
at that mosque every week to reminisce the old days.
About a 100m behind that mosque, stood the only untouched
and natural beaches in Singapore till now. The beach
looks eerie though. According to the history, there
were 6 to 7 villages there. I was told by the only oldest
living residents in that kampong about few paranormal
happenings there. One of them is a rubber tree just
beside the mosque.
The rest is about the accidents happen at sea. It seems
every year there were at least 2 to 3 deaths at sea
surounding that area, then. Now, only a few months ago,
a 15 year old boy drown by the sea again. According
to the people who have associated themselves to the
beach at sembwang, there are at least 2 deaths per year
there.
Got a nice interesting story about that place while
i was doing research. I loved the beach though. Met
this nice family wo loved to camp by the sea almost
everyday. While drinking coffee. he would reminisce
about the old days when he was a former residents of
that kampong. Loved to go back there again to relax.
