There is a secret sacred
ground behind the Lim Bo Seng tomb that is allegedly full of
powerful supernatural energy.
On this sacred group, cryptic headstones were found with
inscriptions of the word "DARE" and something looks like a bear.
Nobody knows what do the messages mean and what are these
headstones. Can you
answer this mystery?
Sacred Ground Behind Lim Bo Seng
Tomb
In 1869, the McRitchie reservoir was declared to be a protected
reserve. So technically since that time nothing has been changed.
And technically it is not surprising to find many historical and
unusual remains of the British still lurking in the forest.
After SPI has unearthed the hidden Syonan Jinja (Japanese Shinto
Shrine built during WW2) in 2003, the team recently found a
mysterious sacred land in the forest just behind the tomb of our
national hero Mr. Lim Bo Seng in McRitchie reservoir.
What strangest of all lies somewhere inside the forest on this
sacred land. Clad by the dense trees, there are stone ruins that
appear to be remains of old buildings. The concrete slabs and
blocks suggest that they belong to a very large house. Two
structures here with openings on the side resemble some large
kilns. Are these the remains of a secret British military camp in
the past?
But what held the most interest were two free standing headstones
with some cryptic symbols and a word ¡¥Dare¡¦. Are these tombstones
or just vandalized structures?

Colorful Tibetan prayer
flags were found nearby the cryptic headstones. Do they have any
relation?

1. This is a very unique
antique tree called "Three Tree" in terms of Feng Shui, it is
extremely rare and full of supernatural energy
2. SPI was investigating this unique Feng Shui Three Tree (a
cluster of three trees whose roots fully entangled together)
3 - 4. Tibetan prayer flags were hanging high on those trees too;
obviously an evidence of some ritual. Can you
tell what ritual it is?
A Tibitan Buddhist Ritual Held at McRitchie?
By chance, SPI discovered this land has more than just historical
ruins. Ritual artifacts were discovered too in the proximity of
the cryptic headstones. Prayer banners that measure about two
meters long with Tibetan Buddhist chants and symbols printed on
were hanging on the trees in some sort of formation. At a glance,
it was thought that the praying flags were for appeasing the
spirits of those who have allegedly buried under the headstones.
Upon consulting our SPI very Feng Shui master, Babyboss, it was
found to be otherwise. This was a ritual literally called
¡§Foundation of Life¡¨ for the living instead of the dead. Being
popular and originated in Taiwan, the ritual requires burying a
piece of bodily belonging of a person such as a tooth, nails and
hairs at least three feet under the soil with the surrounded
prayer flags hanging high. The person will then receive blessings
in terms of wealth, improved luck, protection against evil hex and
even prolonged life from the supernatural force absorbed from the
sacred ground.
One requirement for such ritual to effect is the chosen location
must be extremely auspicious in Feng Shui. Taking for granted that
it was on a hill area, facing the reservoir and our former
national hero Mr. Lim Bo Seng was buried there too, it is
undoubtedly a very unique place of geomancy. Next SPI investigates
into the possible connections between the sacred land and the
cryptic headstones. Full details will come along with the
forthcoming SPI File and the SPI channel on Singtel 3Logy.
Meanwhile, lets embark on the following amazing pictorial tour for
some highlights of the investigation.

1. Behind the Lim Bo Seng tomb, there are many
remains of British ruins. This seems to be a base stump on which a
pillar was hoisted
2. A little further, there is a deep drain structure with metal hand
rails that one person can climb down
3. This is what looks like a large cooking kiln. could it be a kitchen
for the old British camp in the past?
4. Some fragments of ceramic pots suggest that could be an army
cookery for preparing a large amount of food for the soldiers

1 - 2. SPI was trying to check how deep the headstone slab was buried
in the ground, it was found to be at least a meter long
3. The headstone is measured by the direction of its facing, it is not
facing west at all. The stone is about 8.5 inches wide.
4. A mysterious jacket was found behind the cryptic headstones. Is it
a pure coincidence it was there or something else?

1. About ten meters away from the pair of cryptic headstones, SPI
found another similar one facing a tree on an open ground
2 -
3. This time, it has a digit "8" and on top there is a symbol of arrow
pointing upwards. What does this cryptic figure mean?
4. Ruins of what allegedly belong to the British colony can be spotted
here and there at McRitchie reservoir if you'd be a bit observant

1. This is another piece of headstone with the letters
"M.C." engraved on, found at Bukit Brown cemetery. It is a maker, not
a tomb
2. In Bukit Brown cemetery, there are many other similar headstones
found.
So wouldn't the cryptic headstones at McRichie are just poor men's
tombs?
The rich ones can afford elaborate tombs, while the common folks can
afford only a stone slab?
3. If this theory is true, a whole of headstone would look like this
one in the photo. Its length is more than a meter, thin and narrow
4. For this one, it is quite possible that is a Chinese tomb stone.
The characters have traces of red paint left behind, typical of
Chinese culture.
