Btw, I juz read about your report about the haunting at Bedok. Somehow, I have a few humble comments on it.

Firstly, the small bottle that contain unknown substance might be actually a Thai form of toyol a.k.a "Lup Yong" ... the original form is 2 piece of wood, not ordinary wood though ... 1 will be "white"(our skin colour) & the other black ... 1 will be male , the other female. Their purpose, is almost the same as the malay toyol(depends on owner).

Secondly, it might be juz ordinary "ren yuan oil" ...purpose to improve human relationship but has no adverse effect. Through my personal observation, I believe is the thai toyol, the bottle type is commonly used to house it + having oil in it.

Thirdly, as for the cursed doll, chinese beliefs that statues or figures can be occupy by "wandering" spirts or ghosts in searching for a home, these will have adverse effect on the family after a long period of time , besides as shown in the photographs, the house is too dark ... thus, the "Yin" energy is stronger because it attract "unwanted company" ... as you have suggested to the family, to shift the furniture and change the curtains to allow more light into the house, this can only help them less than partially.

Btw, toyols are mainly kept in bottles of oil & very rarely in "urns" and it will grow after time. malay "Jins" are powerful spirits that are hard to "destroy". It might juz be them . Hard to say.

Fourth, as for the Tung - Shu, no one will be effected by it as it is juz a normal book to check good and bad dates and hours, what I believe is that ... u guys are under "attack" by spirits dewelling in and out of the house, kinda "warning" by them to ask to leave, they couldn't touch you throughly might be due to some kind "forces" protecting u guys, as I have experience it before.

Last but not least, there is a saying, it goes like that ... " Different type of ghosts or spirits are afraid of different types of protective stuffs from each religion. " What I believe is that the root to solve this haunting is to find out why and what the spirits or ghost are and wants with the family. It might not be the mother or any curses. Maybe the family is being tauted by ghosts or spirits and + that if their faith is not strong, nothing an protect them from it. Things will never end.
