Abandoned HDBs in Red
Hill undergoing redeveloping, although they still look new.

Hi,
recently receive a piece of information from my sis's fren saying
that there is a blk of flat,Blk 112, at Tiong Bahru that is empty.
It is those square shape (plan view) 25/26 storey flat. Shld be
belonging to older generation of flats. But the physical
appearance of the flat is clean n new. Beside blk 112 is another
blk of the same design, but fully occupied. They are both beside
the Bukit Merah West NPC.
People were seen moving in, but not for long, they will move out.
And now, it is totally empty.
I have tried asking HDB is there going to be an upgrading or are
they demolishing it and they replied that it is actually a rental
flat. Not for sale.
maybe that explains why people move in for a while, and then
leave. Or maybe there could be another reason which they won't
disclose.
Just for information, in case ur might be interested to check it
out when free.

HI Jovian,
Thanks so very much for this piece of information.
WE would like to assure you that this place is definitely not
haunted, at least that's not the reason why it's left empty by HDB.
It's empty for a very simple reason.. because it's slated for
future development.
HDB do not redevelope all blks within the same area even if all
the blocks are the same age.
I Know because I was involved ion a construction project in Tebans
Gardens, where existing block was torn down to make way for new
blocks and a shopping centers. Even now there are still empty
blocks there, side by side with some blocks that are occupied. And
some other blocks were even upgraded to match the new blocks.
So you see, just like human, even HDB blocks though from the same
age and area, will not get same future or treatment.
regards
