Hi,
u can call me Heng. i am a great fan of your website. just wanna
share this personal story of mine which i encountered about 8
years ago.
back in 1995, when i was still in sec 2, a few of us went to pulau
ubin. we were led by a senior who was also a cadet inspector from
NPCC whom i myself later, became one. yah, we were all from NPCC
but this was an unofficial trip.
we wanted to do a night walk from the jetty to our "base camp" at
noorthing beach. the plan was from the jetty, we would be
dispatched 2 by 2 with a 10 to 15 minutes interval and made our
way back to the beach. as we were young and kind of adventurous,
all of us were looking forward to it.
at about 11.30pm, we made our way to the jetty. on the way, we
were chit chatting, talking rubbish when suddenly, something
happened. after we passed the village head's house, we could smell
this very strong flower fragrance.
it was overwhelming. it was so strong that it was becoming a
stench. i did not realise anything wrong, but that senior of ours
told us to stop talking and walk faster. we really walked very
fast almost to the point of jogging.
nobody talked about it after that and we carried out our night
walk as planned. i only realised very much later that the smell
was actually frangipani and that frangipani are often associated
with spirits.
Post a follow-up on this mystery
