Frequently Asked
Questions
Q1. What is SPI Agent basically about?
Basically, essentially and simply, SPI online research club is about connecting
like-minded good people to explain the unexplained, solve the unsolved
and explore the facts that lead to debunking paranormal cases. SPI is
a non-profit hobby club that provides a virtual community
and agora
for members to exchange ideas, information, stories and results.
Members are encouraged to work together towards the same goals rather
than as a lone ranger. From time to time, outings like night
excursion, investigation, experimentation as well as fun gathering
and dinner will be organized. Our organization also promotes
professional and scientific approach for conducting paranormal
investigation wherever possible.
Q2. What is the difference between SPI Forum Members and SPI
Agents?
This is analogous to 'Inactive' and 'Active' members. Forum
Membership means the fundamental affiliation with the SPI club with light
interaction. Forum members may take a passive role that mostly
receive news, emails, and participate with SPI activities as per when
they are free. It suits those who have heavy job or family
commitments but yet love to enjoy the paranormal investigation with
us. Their contribution and commitment are although encouraged,
not expected to be substantial. On the other hand, SPI Executive
Agent Membership is awarded to those people who actively take part in
our activities and have consistent contribution to our research
club. Therefore the profiles of the Agent and Executive Agents will be listed under the
Agent
Team for their recognition.
Q3. What about SPI Forum Members and SPI Friends?
These two tiers of members are basically guest members to SPI club,
mostly active online in the forum. They may need time to observe and
find out more about their roles in SPI before they commit to joining
as full agents for physical interactions. However, they are always of
course welcome to attend our events and mingle among us. Such
memberships are suitable for those who join us only in their leisure
time, and also for people who are from oversea want to affiliate with SPI through our virtual platforms. Signing up as our SPI members requires
absolutely no paying fees unlike some profit-making
organizations.
Q4. Can I join two types of Membership at the same time?
Technically speaking, yes you can. For example, someone may start by
first joining as a forum member, then sign up as a SPI Friends for
more access rights. Later on, he applied for the SPI Agent Membership.
There is no conflict with that. It is only that the higher level of
membership you join, the more opportunities for participation and recognition you would
receive at SPI.
Q5. Can I change my role in the SPI organization after taking up one?
SPI agent team is designed to operate as a specialized team in which every member
contributes and develops with his own area of specialization. E.g. I am a full-time video camera man and I know all the filming
techniques very well. Then naturally I would take up a filming
role in a team that utilizes my skills. You can, however, take
up multiple roles should you are good at a number of things. The
basic idea here is to let the members contribute at their strength for
yielding the best possible team results in our investigation. But yet we encourage them to learn or may be try other new things in
our club. So yes, it is possible to take up more than one
position or change to another appropriate position for our members.
Q6. If I join SPI Friends now, can I later upgrade to a SPI
Agent?
Yes, it is certainly possible and encouraged. By joining our SPI Agent Membership, not only it entitles you to many
recognitions, it
is a positive message from you telling the everybody in the club:
"Yes, I am here to support the good work that you are doing."
Q7. How can I join the SPI Agent Membership?
Please scroll to the top of the page.
Q8. What are the 'give and take'?
Joining SPI club is solely on voluntary basis and at good
will. Here we join forces to research on paranormal, gather
facts, cultivate knowledge, develop skills and expertise. Your
contribution, just like the rest of us, is the time, efforts,
dedication and passion to find out the facts behind mysteries of
paranormal. This approach is done on a sharing basis, that means
together we share the hard work, sometimes share the expenses, and we
share the results too. In return, you will enjoy the team work, learn
new things from the other members, and together we can gain
some far-reaching research results in return.
There are absolutely no fees involved in any type of our membership -
we are just a hobby club. We do not accept any form of donation too.
Don't let anybody who pretends to be SPI or the like sells you any
membership, and rip your hard-earned money off. SPI founder Kenny
personally detests any greedy mind of making money out from the hype
of paranormal.
Q9. Is there any requirements or age limit in joining SPI?
We don't place a strict age limit in joining for SPI Forum
Members and SPI Friends, although SPI Agents who are below 16
years old need a guardian's consent. Usually our culture involves people
who are mostly local and some from
oversea, from the age of 13 to 70+. We are from all walks of life
and have a variety of different backgrounds. However, SPI research
club is and will
be maintained to be healthy and righteous. We try our best to
sustain fairness and uphold justice in the team. So we expect
members to always behave decently, professionally and absolute lawfully.
You must have no criminal record. Strictly NO drugs, alcohol,
smoking, lies, foul language, bad attitudes, evil thoughts and
actions as such will be tolerated.
