2004 - The Year Of The Monkey

The Year of The Wood Monkey is symbolized by the Heavenly Stem Yang Wood 'sitting' on the Earthly Branch Yang Metal. In accordance to the Five Element Theory, the Metal will cut into the Wood thus causing disharmony and conflicts.

The Yang Wood is governed by principles, rules and regulations while Metal represents the execution, swiftness and detachment. Together, this is a year of political unrest, power struggles and forceful casualties.

Watch out for the deadly '5 Yellow' star in the Flying Star Chart this year, which is positioned in the centre grid, the sickness 'Black 2' star in the SW & the 'Conflict 3' star in the East. Feb, Aug and Nov are trying periods.

You may weaken the '5 Yellow' with the all-metal Fu Lu Shou in the centre at home or office, the 6 Emperor Coins to counter the sickness star in the SW and a red feature in the East to suppress the quarrelsome star. On a brighter note, the Yang Wood year depicts Spring, Youth, Promises and Growth. 2004 is also the start of a new 20 year cycle known as 'Age 8' symbolic of the young man's rise to power.
