Is bug from
outer space?
(source of information: The Sun Newspaper, by Tim Spanton)

SARS may be a
bug from OUTER SPACE flung into our atmosphere by a comet, say two
leading British scientists.
Microbiologist Dr Milton Wainwright said: “Several aspects of the
SARS outbreak appear to fit this general scheme.”
And Professor Chandra Wickramasinghe warned: “We should keep a
watch on new cases of SARS.
If they are not connected with known cases, then there’s a real
possibility that it has come from space.”
It is believed the bug could have arrived in three stages.
1. Debris from a comet, including the SARS bug, stays in the
stratosphere.
2. Bug reaches the Himalayas, whose high peaks are on the edge of
the stratosphere, and particles begin descent.
3. Earth’s rotation and prevailing winds mean SARS is blown into
China.
Dr Wainwright, of Sheffield University, said the evidence that
SARS came from space was the novel nature of the virus, the fact
it was first detected in China, low rates of infection except
through close contact, and failure to contain the epidemic.
A recent study of the atmosphere 25 miles up estimated a ton of
bio material arrives from space every day.
Prof Wickramasinghe, head of Cardiff University’s astrobiology
centre, warned: “We found huge amounts of bacteria and possibly
viruses.”
He called for global monitoring of the upper atmosphere to detect
new bugs and said: “There’s not a lot we can do about this one
now.
If it is in the upper atmosphere, it is only a matter of time
before it reaches the ground.
“The pattern of spread suggests this could also occur over the
Swiss Alps, but the way the Earth turns means that regions to the
east of the Alps, such as Russia, will tend to be infected.”

Is SARS a
Judgment from God?

SARS—discovered
months ago but gaining world attention only in the past few
weeks—is Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, which World Health
Organization (WHO) officials now believe got its start last year
in China's Guangdong Province. It is a pneumonia-like illness that
has no known cure.
Called a "celebrity disease" by some, who point out that
tuberculosis kills two million people worldwide per year, SARS
threatens to devastate China's economy. It has already had an
enormous impact on Canada's financial well-being.
However, SARS has been stopped by health officials in Vietnam,
slowed considerably in Toronto and in Hong Kong, Singapore and
other affected locations.
Health officials have estimated that it will be "at least one
year" before an antidote for the syndrome is available, more
likely three years. One source is quoted as saying the disease
originated in an undetermined exotic animal and spread through
human contact.
A matrix I discovered on SARS is in a passage of Torah text that
suggests strongly that Hasehm, or G-d, is allowing or causing this
disease. At the beginning of the surface text is this dire warning
of what would befall the Children of Israel if they turned away
from Him.
-
If you do not carefully follow all the
words of this law, which are written in this book, and do not
revere this glorious and awesome name—the LORD your God, the
LORD will send fearful plagues on you and your descendants,
harsh and prolonged disasters, and severe and lingering
illnesses. He will bring upon you all the diseases of Egypt that
you dreaded, and they will cling to you. The LORD will also
bring on you every kind of sickness and disaster not recorded in
this Book of the Law, until you are destroyed. You who were as
numerous as the stars in the sky will be left but few in number,
because you did not obey the LORD your God. Just as it pleased
the LORD to make you prosper and increase in number, so it will
please him to ruin and destroy you. Deuteronomy 28:58-63a (New
International Version)
The heart of
this matrix is the lungs. More specifically, the health of the
lungs is the subject of the matrix. Interestingly, in Hebrew, the
word health and lungs is the same:
.
It makes good sense that in an area of the Bible where G-d
discusses the health (and wealth) of the nation of Israel as
dependent on following the commandments, a matrix about a very
serious health issue is found. The bottom line about very sick
lungs is that they no longer function, and breathing ceases. The
last term at the bottom of this matrix, dealing with a very
serious lung disease, states "no breathing."
Our sages tell us that a healthy soul is in a healthy body. On the
other hand when the soul is not healthy (does not obey divine
rules) the body is not healthy. This can be viewed as true of an
individual, as well as of a nation, or of the world population.
The matrix that deals with SARS covers the area where Hashem is
laying down the rules, and the consequences of following them or
choosing not to follow. The matrix shows that He can bring on
sickness or cure. It is up to us.

The codes also
suggest that the disease is "not a disease." It is a curse. There
are no indications that it is a bacteria, but rather a virus. At
this point of writing, the scientists are not yet sure what it is.
The codes suggest that the center of the disease is in Asia, they
have deviated from the moral path. They tell us that disease is
cause (by men) and effect [by Hashem]. He can heal, and He has the
medicine. This is healing after the affliction. On the other hand,
the text explains how to keep good health (good lungs) to begin
with.

The term
(virus) in the red box in the matrix segment below is not very
prominent on its own. On the other hand, it appears vertically in
the matrix and the four lines tell the story. It starts at the top
right corner, continues on the second line in the middle, and then
three more terms, one below the other, intersect the term. The
story is 1.) With high fever and inflammation; 2.) until you will
perish; 3.) and the virus/smiting; 4.) is frightening; 6.) in the
dark.

It is difficult
to show the entire matrix clearly. The center of the matrix at a
skip of 55 letters between the lines is shown above. The actual
skip between the lines is not really important as the entire text
is considered from the first term to the last. What is shown
clearly in the above matrix is the interplay of the term:

Bad Health,
Hashem is Against Me
The term
"health" or "lungs" shares the letter "taf" with the main term
"health." It also shares a letter (yud) with the term:

With the
Knowledge of China
The connection
here is that the bad health was first used against China.

Some of the
other terms in the matrix above are the year and month the
outbreak started, and that the medicine is in Hashem.
Veteran code researcher and engineer Moshe Aharon Shak was born in
Israel and now makes his home in Montreal.
While Moshe was working on the above article, we received another
Hebrew spelling of SARS from Nathan Jacobi. It is an acronym for
the term

We searched for
the term in the Tanakh and discovered it passing through the
cluster that Moshe discovered once, and sent the results of the
search to Moshe. Here is our extension of the ELS, with the
original ELS in red:

In coming days,
we plan to search for more long ELSs in the cluster, and we'll be
posting them as we find and extend them.
We present a variety of viewpoints on Bible codes and often
accompanying spiritual matters in these web pages, but we don't
necessarily agree with all of them. Our view is that bad things
that occur may be due either to God's specific judgment, or God
allowing such things to take place as a general consequence of
mankind's rebellion against Him. We believe it is often not
possible to determine which of these is the case in any particular
situation.
Singapore Leading the Charge
Against SARS
(Source of information: Far Eastern Economic Review, 8 May 2003)
It was Singapore Prime Minster Goh Chok Tong's initiative to bring
the leaders together. Speaking to the Review in Singapore
just ahead of the meeting. Singapore also took the lead in
framing the agenda, pushing for the implementation of screening
and shared information on the movement of people infected with
Sars. Singapore argued that effective screening and
contact-tracing of those infected with Sars was vital to keep
borders open. In the weeks ahead, Singapore will also push
for more effective screening based on a valid diagnostic test.
"At the moment, they're just sticking a thermometer into your ear,
not very accurate. But in few weeks times ahead, we hope
there will be this diagnostic kit that can detect whether you have
Sars virus."
The strategy called for the Asean leaders to first agree on a set
of resolutions and measures, and then for China to sign on.
Brining Beijing in was a key objective because, while the WHO says
Sars appears to have peaked elsewhere in the region, the number of
cases in China is continuing to rise. In the meeting, it was
Singapore's Goh who urged China to associate itself with the
measure called for by the Asean leaders.
"One good lesson we can learn this is, when there's a new problem,
let's pour all resources into it. Next, let's be transparent
in terms of communicating the risks to the people, as we do in
Singapore, and never lose the trust and confidence of your people
in handling a crisis", PM Goh said.

1. As our national
leader, Lee sets a good example of measuring body temperature
regularly;
2. Changi airport and many other key buildings in Singapore have
deployed thermal sensors to pick up SARS suspects.
It is the most advanced of its kind, modified from military
thermal sensor that detects enemy convoy from far distance by
heat.
Such high-tech sensors are bulk ordered by China and HK to combat
SARS
We salute to the doctors, nurses and all the staff who work at
TTSH. They are the heroes with great professionalism.
2. Temporary tents are erected in the parking lot facing TTSH's
Accident and Emergency ward.
They form a screening centre to cope with the increasing numbers
of suspected Sars cases.
3. SIA the best airline in Asia is the first to provide SARS
prevention kits to passengers on selected flights;
Also their aircrafts are the first to have HPPA filters installed
and the cabins thoroughly disinfected.

1. Medical staff
volunteer to check on passengers who come from infested countries
to Singapore at airport terminal.
2. Airport officers take up extra duty in safeguarding Changi
airport from SARS suspected passenger. We salute to them!
3. In addition to the best efforts contributed by the healthcare
team and ground staff, guides and sign boards are set up
everywhere.
4. The whole airport is cleaned and disinfected to the highest
possible standard.
In May Day Rally
1 May 2003, our Deputy Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong gave an open
speech as follow:
Whether in combating SARS or in restructuring the economy, we have
dealt with our problems directly, openly and vigorously. We have
not shied away from doing the right thing, which best serves our
collective interests. At the same time, we have tried hard to get
every Singaporean to understand what we are doing, and how we will
overcome the problems together. The key is to respond as one
people. As we make progress, we will gain confidence in ourselves,
and win the confidence of investors.
Our efforts are being noticed. The American Chamber of Commerce
issued a press release recently, saying that Singapore has taken
"a leadership role, globally, in the fight against SARS". The
letter went on to say that Singapore deserves recognition for its
robust strategy, transparency, groundbreaking use of technology,
such as the thermal imaging system, and a world-class medical
treatment system.
The CEO of a Swiss consulting company told the EDB:
"I appreciate very much that EDB has informed us by fax in great
detail about the situation in Singapore, and I would like to
commend on how well your country is handling the issue … For me,
this is again a sign of Singapore’s global competitiveness, as no
other country so severely hit has reacted so responsibly and with
such effectiveness as Singapore. As we walk into an uncertain
global future, these are the qualities a country needs to sustain
itself. In talks with companies we work with, we have stressed
that we are confident if there is one place that is going to be
safe soon, it will be Singapore."
But we cannot afford to relax. Our battles are far from won. It is
not enough for us to be doing the right things. We need to
persevere, in order to achieve the results we aim for. It is good
that WHO thinks highly of our efforts to combat SARS. But the acid
test is whether we have reduced the number of cases to zero,
remain vigilant to stamp on and stamp out any new outbreaks later,
and never allow a new cluster to erupt. Similarly, it is good that
our labour force is rated number one by BERI, and our economy is
rated as one of the most competitive in the world by the WEF and
IMD. But we must succeed in our economic restructuring, bring in
the investments, and deliver the growth and prosperity to
Singaporeans.
I am confident that through close cooperation between the
Government, workers and employers, we will achieve this, and
Singapore will emerge stronger and more resilient than ever.
Fighting Sars Together: A
Letter from Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong
(Every Singaporean should have read this at least
once!)
US may be
arrogant but China is untrustworthy
(Source: Straits Times, April 23, 2003, Steve Friess)
BEIJING - Just when it looked as if China was about to emerge as
the superpower of choice for a world appalled and outraged by the
American invasion of Iraq, along comes a killer virus to remind
everyone why a superpower ruled by autocrats can be hazardous to
everyone's health.
Indeed, it is hard not to pity the astoundingly poor luck and
timing - for the communist leaders in Beijing - of the outbreak of
the severe acute respiratory syndrome, or Sars, and the
subsequent, predictably bungled cover-up.
Instead of stepping out of the shadow of what appears to be a
hated United States, this regime has magically reminded the planet
in just a few weeks that it is untrustworthy and selfish - and why
that matters.
That is an impressive feat, considering how successful the Chinese
had been in the past decade at earning global love - and even a
Summer Olympics - by opening its burgeoning economy to world trade
while studiously avoiding criticising most foreign governments.
The deal was that China would keep its opinions to itself and
allow the world to stake claims in the Chinese gold rush. In turn,
other nations would let slide Beijing's horrifying crackdowns on
freedoms of religion, assembly and speech.
Other governments have rationalised that the firm communist
control is necessary to maintain social stability, which, in turn,
is necessary to keep profit margins growing. All that capitalism,
the best-intended thinking goes, will naturally lead to political
freedom.
But now, with a perplexing coronavirus that has spread to more
than 3,200 people in 23 countries, the deal with the devil is
paying its miserable dividends.
China sat by idly for four months as Sars cases accumulated in its
southern province of Guangdong, hoping nobody would notice so as
to avoid embarrassment. The lack of a free press to alert the
public to the developing pattern not only cost untold Chinese
lives but put at risk tourists, businessmen and other expatriates.
Among them are citizens of nations that didn't believe that
Beijing's oppression affected them.
As Sars spilled over to the rest of the world, Beijing tried
damage control rather than infectious-disease control, and failed
at both. Health officials here have announced such laughably low
infection numbers that one irate Chinese doctor was compelled to
take the brave step of telling Time magazine that he personally
knew of more cases in one Beijing hospital than the total claimed
for the entire capital.
At the same time, a ridiculous effort continues to insist that
Sars did not originate in China. World Health Organisation
officials were muttering privately early this month that the
Chinese had been slow to provide samples of the virus from
mainland victims. Those samples, once obtained, showed the Chinese
Sars has almost identical DNA as that found elsewhere. But a
mainland doctor told Hongkong's South China Morning Post on
Sunday: 'I do not share the view that Hongkong infections came
from Guangdong'.
The health panic brought on by Sars is a result of Beijing's lack
of credibility. Even now, the state-run English language China
Daily keeps up its don't-worry-be-happy tenor by showing pictures
of carefree Western tourists enjoying the sites and quoting
alleged experts predicting little financial fallout for the
overall Chinese economy.
Suddenly, the world's investors recall why China is still a risky
place to open a franchise or build a factory.
If Beijing will lie about something as serious as its own
public-health crisis, how trustworthy are the delirious economic
statistics it publishes? And if there is no democratic way to
remove corrupt leaders, isn't corruption a real threat to that
cherished 'stability', too?
Just as suddenly, the US doesn't look so bad. President George W.
Bush may have flouted world opinion, but he did it openly and used
American might to depose a brutal megalomaniac.
The US may be arrogant, but China is untrustworthy. Sars has only
just begun to teach the world which is worse.

1. Some die-hard
fans of Mao ridiculously believe in carrying Mao's portrait will
protect them from SARS
2. In Hong Kong, temples are packed with worshippers begging deity
gods to save them from infection
3. The superstition has not peaked yet - some shops believe
employing guards of modern and ancient armor helps wading off SARS
evil.
4. Perhaps this is the most practical approach - villages that
have not got infested yet, stop outsiders from entering.
Intruders will be beaten up by these men.

1. Wearing sunglasses
helps prevents SARS?
2. These so-called SARS warriors dress in the communist
revolution-army uniform and wear a red-ribbon on chest to fight
SARS?
3. Some believe eating raw game like dog, cat, rat, rabbit,
squirrel, fox, wolf, snake and crocodile give them miraculous
body immune.
4. Pretty models with sweet smiles in a public event light up
candles wishing for the plague to be over soon.

1 & 2. Economy slumps
and businesses badly damage especially the retail and eatery.
3. Since no business, the waiters and waitresses come out from the
restaurant to play in the street.
4. Plague ruining the country has become a norm and everybody is
used to it.
As a result, they might as well make designer masks and wear them
like fashion.

1. Many
life-treasuring civilians flee Beijing for life; 2. Time magazine
has classified China as a SARS Nation
3. Why is China a SARS nation? Just look at how people wear
their mask. Seems like smoking is more important than
anything else.
